Udaipur: A religious gathering was organised at Mahavir Samavsharan, Devendra Dham, under the aegis of Shri Vardhman Sthanakvasi Jain Shravak Sangh, Kumharwada.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Surendra Muni said that the human body on which people often take pride is made up of the five elements—earth, water, fire, air and space—and ultimately returns to these very elements. In Jain scriptures, this physical body is described as the ‘Audaarik Sharir’, whose inherent nature is impermanent.
He said human life is precious, but people often become so entangled in worldly pursuits that they forget its true purpose. Using the example of the Chintaharan Ratna, he explained that just as a farmer, out of ignorance, lost a precious gem while trying to drive away a crow, people too waste their valuable human lives pursuing trivial desires.
Dr Rajendra Muni said people should draw inspiration from the lives of great personalities such as Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Lord Mahavir, Lord Buddha and Guru Nanak and incorporate human values into their lives. He emphasised that material development alone cannot ensure peace and that spiritual values and संस्कार are equally important.
Upadhyay Ramesh Muni, Dipesh Muni, office-bearers of the Sangh and devotees were present at the gathering.
Sangh President Advocate Roshanlal Jain said guests who had arrived from Karnal, Ludhiana and Delhi were honoured on the occasion.
General Secretary Himmat Badala appealed to devotees to participate in a collective Ekashan Tap on the upcoming 5th in connection with Yuvacharya Mahendra Jayanti.
