Udaipur, The Executive Council (Board of Management) of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University held a meeting on Tuesday at the Vice-Chancellor's Secretariat in Pratap Nagar, Udaipur, under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manju Mandot. Several important decisions concerning the university's administration, financial affairs and institutional assets were taken during the meeting.
At the outset, Chancellor Bhanwar Lal Gurjar and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manju Mandot welcomed and felicitated newly appointed Executive Council members Vallabhnagar MLA Uday Lal Dangi, former Chancellor Praful Nagar and former Vice-Chancellor Prof. Lokesh Bhatt by presenting them with garlands and traditional uparnas.
The proceedings of the Executive Council meeting held on April 29, 2026, and the Academic Council meeting held on July 25, 2026, were placed before the council for confirmation.
Audit to Cover Appointments and Financial Irregularities
The council decided to constitute an Audit and Review Committee to investigate alleged irregularities in appointments, promotions and the accounts department during the tenure of the former vice-chancellor.
The committee will examine the period from 2012 to 2026 and submit its report.
According to the university, substantial advance payments were allegedly made to employees during the former vice-chancellor's tenure without adherence to prescribed rules. The council decided to initiate recovery proceedings against those concerned, in accordance with the applicable rules and findings of the review.
New Governing Bodies Approved
Prof. Mandot said that, in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and Rules, 2023, the newly constituted Executive Council, Academic Council and Finance Committee were placed before the meeting for approval.
The proposals were unanimously approved by the council.
Committee to Review Ajmer Land and College Management
The council also discussed land belonging to Rajasthan Vidyapeeth in Ajmer, which had been entrusted to another trust operating under the university for running a college.
It was decided to constitute a committee to examine the present status of the property and submit its findings at the next meeting.
Former Chancellor Praful Nagar clarified that Rajasthan Vidyapeeth had neither sold nor leased any of its properties. He said the management of the trust had been transferred through the government in accordance with legal procedures.
He further stated that efforts would be made to bring the matter back under the institution's management. The council decided to pursue the issue further.
Officials Attend Meeting
The meeting was attended by UGC member Prof. Anand Paliwal, Registrar Dr. Tarun Shrimali, PG Dean Prof. Malay Paneri, Prof. Saroj Garg, Dr. Leeli Jain, Dr. Manish Shrimali and Dr. Chandresh Chhatlani, among others.
The decisions taken at the meeting focused on reviewing past administrative and financial matters, strengthening institutional governance and examining the status of university properties.
