Udaipur, September 27: The life and reign of Maharana Pratap offer an inspiring example of good governance, financial management, judicious utilisation of available resources, effective human resource management, urban planning, and the conservation and management of water and natural resources. Engineering and management students should draw inspiration from his life and leadership.
These views were expressed by Bharti Raj, Financial Advisor at RSMM Limited and a senior officer of the Rajasthan Accounts Service, while inaugurating the Meljol Fair organised at Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic.
She said that Maharana Pratap was not merely a great military commander but also an exceptional leader who demonstrated remarkable skills in organising people, managing resources and mobilising strength under challenging circumstances. Young people, particularly Gen Z, should learn from him the values of patriotism, leadership, self-restraint and social responsibility.
Raj further encouraged students to dream with their eyes open and work persistently to transform their aspirations into achievements. In the present era of digital distractions, she said, studying inspiring personalities can help young people develop commitment towards their goals, discipline, sacrifice, honesty and a sense of responsibility.
During the programme, students of Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic and Meera Girls College presented an impressive theatrical performance based on the historic ‘Diver Vijay’, prepared by the Pratap Gaurav Kendra. Through songs, dialogues, acting and dance, the students brought alive the struggles of Maharana Pratap and the historic episode of the Battle of Diver.
The participating students were felicitated on behalf of Vidya Bhawan by Bharti Raj, former UCCI president Komal Singh Kothari, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations Gauri Kant Sharma, and Principal Dr Anil Mehta.
Presiding over the programme, Komal Singh Kothari welcomed the newly admitted students and familiarised them with Vidya Bhawan’s objectives, its 95-year-old educational legacy and its achievements.
Principal Dr Anil Mehta said that Maharana Pratap’s life was associated not only with struggle but also with social engagement and coordination. He emphasised that alongside technical education, students should develop a spirit of dialogue and interaction with different sections of society and encourage their participation in the country's technological advancement.
He added that fostering such social interaction and engagement was the very objective of the Meljol Fair.
Under the guidance of programme coordinator Prakash Sundaram, a series of cultural performances featuring songs and dances were organised. Food, games and entertainment stalls set up by students, parents and teachers also witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of visitors.
