Human Life Remains Incomplete Without Self-Knowledge: Dr. Surendra Muni

Udaipur: A religious gathering was organised at Mahavir Samavsharan, located at Devendra Dham, under the aegis of the Shri Vardhman Sthanakvasi Jain Shravak Sangh. Addressing the gathering, revered Dr. Surendra Muni said that human life remains incomplete in the absence of self-knowledge. He said people often remain engrossed in the mortal body and material comforts, while the true foundation of life is the soul. He explained that the body is inert, while the soul is conscious, and that the existence of the body is sustained by the soul. Drawing an analogy, he said that just as zeros have no value without the number ‘one’, all the organs of the body are lifeless without the soul. Citing the example of Acharya Mantung, he said that when inner spiritual energy is awakened, an individual gains the strength to face difficult circumstances. The power of the soul is infinite, and great spiritual personalities have awakened this inner strength and shown society the path of peace and welfare. Pravartak Dr. Rajendra Muni explained the different states of the soul and said that, according to one’s karma and the course of existence, the soul may attain the states of hellish beings, animals and other living beings, humans, or celestial beings. During the religious gathering, Sangh president Advocate Roshanlal Jain welcomed social workers who had arrived from Rupnagar in Punjab, Delhi, Bhilwara and Surat. The Mahila Sangh also felicitated women ascetics undertaking religious austerities. General Secretary Himmat Badala expressed gratitude to everyone present.
