Udaipur: In a unique Ganeshotsav celebration, the idol of ‘Mannat Wale Raja’ in Udaipur was adorned with currency notes worth Rs 2.51 crore on Wednesday, attracting a large number of devotees.
According to the organisers, this year’s elaborate decoration featured currency notes worth Rs 2.51 crore. Last year, the idol had been adorned with notes worth Rs 1.55 crore.
Organisers Vishal Jain and Nitesh Sahu said devotees from across the city turned up in large numbers to witness the elaborate decoration and seek blessings. Special arrangements were made to ensure smooth and orderly movement of devotees.
Entry for darshan was arranged through Surajpol, from where devotees were guided along a designated route to the temple premises and then to the Mannat Wale Raja pandal. After darshan, devotees were directed towards Lakhara Chowk for exit.
To maintain smooth movement, devotees were requested to leave their footwear at designated points in the Surajpol area. Once they proceeded towards the pandal, re-entry was not permitted.
The organisers thanked devotees for their overwhelming response and participation in the special Ganeshotsav celebration.
