Hindustan Zinc kickstarts Shiksha Sambal Summer Camps

The month-long summer camp includes3 residential camps held in Udaipur&12 non-residential ones at 6 locations - Zawar, Debari, Dariba, Chanderiya, Agucha & Ajmer.

The camps target the students of 8th, 10th and 12th to bridge their learning gaps and further enhance conceptual understanding in Science, Language and Mathematics.

Udaipur: Hindustan Zinc, under its Shiksha Sambal Program, organizes 15 Summer Camps across the districts of Rajasthan for over 1500 rural & tribal students of class 8th, 10th& 12th. To ensure the overall development of these students, this one-month camp has begun at Udaipur and 6 business locations of Hindustan Zinc – Zawar, Debari, Chanderiya, Dariba, Agucha and Ajmer. Additionally, 17 students from Pantnagar have joined the residential camp, and around 1500 students from 66 Shiksha Sambal schools will benefit from these camps.

The Shiksha Sambal Summer Camp is a platform for young minds to explore their potential, ignite their passions, and develop the skills necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving world.”

The company, under the project, focuses on quality education and provides remedial classes to rural students appearing for Rajasthan Board Examination. It aims at enhancing conceptual understanding of students in Science, Language and Mathematics while also focusing on developing students' social, cognitive as well as emotional, and personal development. In addition to the Shiksha Sambal team, volunteer students from prestigious colleges like Delhi University, Tata Institute of Social Science, IISER, Banaras Hindu University, and the University of Mumbai will facilitate the academic input in these camps.

Shiksha Sambal program, initiated by Hindustan Zinc in 2008, aims to strengthen the learning environment in 66 government schools & thereby improve the learning ability of rural students by strengthening their knowledge at a conceptual level with a special focus on subjects like Science, English & Mathematics. Every year with their implementation partner – Vidhya Bhawan, Udaipur, the program reaches more than 8000 students across grades 6th to 12th. The program focuses on enhancing the learning environment in schools through activating labs, libraries & on the academic front through innovative aspects such as Summer & Winter Camps, reading mela, etc. Throughout the year, intensive support is provided by deploying teachers & providing learning materials for the students to improve the learning outcomes of the students.
