Udaipur: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Jawarmata Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited, a Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) operating under the Samadhan Project supported by Hindustan Zinc Limited and BAIF Livelihoods, was organised with the participation of around 300 farmers.
Addressing the gathering, Hindustan Zinc Limited's IBU CEO, Zawar Mines, Anshul Khandelwal, emphasised the greater use of modern technology and agricultural equipment to help increase farmers' incomes. He highlighted the need to improve productivity and efficiency through technology and modern farm machinery. He also suggested working towards doubling the patron bonus for farmers associated with the FPO in the coming year.
Hindustan Zinc's HR Head Saurav Mishra stressed the optimal and effective utilisation of available resources and encouraged the adoption of organic and natural farming practices.
Neeraj Yadav from NABARD provided information about the government-run Pradhan Mantri MYSY scheme and encouraged farmers to enrol and benefit from the initiative. CSR Head Vivek Kumar Singh briefed the gathering about various CSR activities and projects being implemented in the region.
The programme was also attended by Motilal Meena, District Programme Officer, Rajeevika; Kishan Meena, Administrator, Nevatalai; Chunnilal Meena, Administrator, Chanawada; Pawan Patidar, State Head, BAIF Livelihoods; and members of the Samadhan Project team.
FPO Records Turnover of Over Rs 27.27 Lakh
Jawarmata Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited has built a strong base of more than 1,865 shareholders and recorded an annual turnover of over Rs 27.27 lakh during the financial year 2025-26.
During the AGM, the FPO Chairman shared details of the organisation's vision, mission and key achievements. Discussions were also held on the business plan for FY 2026-27, elections to the Board of Directors, distribution of bonus shares and other important matters.
Share certificates were distributed to shareholders on the occasion. Farmers who recorded the highest business through the Agriculture Service Centre were also felicitated.
FPOs Supporting Farmers' Economic Empowerment
Under the Samadhan Project, continuous efforts are being made to establish and strengthen Farmer Producer Organisations to economically empower farmers. FPOs support farmers in the procurement of agricultural inputs, production, harvesting, grading, storage and marketing of agricultural produce.
The initiative aims to strengthen community institutions and connect farmers with market-based services to enhance their income. During the programme, discussions focused on collective growth of farmers, institutional strengthening and the role of the FPO model in strengthening the rural economy.
The participating guests highlighted the role of FPOs in increasing farmers' incomes, reducing agricultural costs and providing better access to markets. Farmers actively participated in the programme and shared suggestions for the future growth and development of the organisation.
Samadhan Project Strengthening Rural Livelihoods
The Samadhan Project is an integrated and sustainable livelihood development initiative being implemented since 2026 across six districts of southern Rajasthan. The project works to enhance farmers' incomes and strengthen livelihoods through agriculture, livestock development and Farmer Producer Organisations.
Through FPOs, farmers are receiving support not only in managing agricultural costs but also through regular market-price information, collective marketing opportunities and better price realisation.
The initiative is contributing towards greater self-reliance among farmers, promotion of sustainable agriculture and strengthening of rural livelihoods. Through their joint efforts, Hindustan Zinc and BAIF Livelihoods are working to create sustainable livelihood opportunities and a stronger economic future for farmers in the Samadhan Project area.
