Chittorgarh: The Annual General Meeting of Jaichittor Kisan Utpadak Sangathan was organised under the Samadhan project being implemented by Hindustan Zinc Limited in collaboration with BAIF. Representatives of Hindustan Zinc Limited, BAIF officials, members of the Board of Directors, shareholder farmers and other stakeholders participated in the meeting. A large number of farmers actively participated in the event.
Jaichittor Kisan Utpadak Sangathan has achieved significant growth during the year, building a strong base of more than 2,000 shareholders and recording an annual turnover of over ₹2.95 crore. The programme began with a presentation by the Chief Executive Officer of the FPO, highlighting the organisation’s vision, mission and achievements. The presentation also covered its business performance during FY 2025-26, services provided to farmers and the organisation’s growth journey.
During the meeting, various proposals were discussed for FY 2026-27, including the business plan, elections to the Board of Directors, dividend and bonus share distribution. Share certificates were also distributed to shareholder farmers. Farmers who conducted the highest business through the agricultural service centres were felicitated on the occasion.
Under the Samadhan project, efforts are being made to establish FPOs under the Companies Act, 2013, with the objective of empowering farmers economically and socially. The FPOs support farmers with timely availability of agricultural inputs, quality seeds and fertilisers, production management, harvesting, grading, storage, aggregation and better marketing of agricultural produce.
Through Jaichittor Kisan Utpadak Sangathan, farmers are receiving support in better management of agricultural costs, regular information on market prices, collective procurement and sales, and opportunities to obtain better prices for their produce. These initiatives are strengthening the bargaining capacity of farmers and helping them access better market opportunities.
Under the Samadhan initiative, Hindustan Zinc has undertaken significant efforts to strengthen FPOs across various districts of Rajasthan. Thousands of farmers are benefiting through these organisations by gaining access to modern agricultural practices, collective marketing and agri-business opportunities.
Chief guest Dr. Shankar Lal Jat, Joint Director Agriculture Department, encouraged farmers to connect with government schemes and avail themselves of the benefits available to them. Mahendra Dudi, NABARD District Coordinator, provided information on banking services and highlighted ways to enhance livelihoods by connecting with NABARD schemes.
Pawan Patidar, State Head BAIF, set a target of taking the FPO’s turnover to ₹10 crore by 2030. He emphasised introducing new activities to increase farmers’ income and make the FPO self-reliant.
Sundarraj, Zinc CSR Location Head, encouraged all farmer members to increase their purchases through the FPO and expressed gratitude to all farmers and stakeholders present at the programme.
The achievement of Jaichittor Kisan Utpadak Sangathan reflects the continued commitment of Hindustan Zinc Limited and BAIF towards promoting sustainable agricultural development and strengthening farmers’ livelihoods in Chittorgarh district.
