Udaipur Catering Dealers Committee Calendar Launch

Udaipur: The Udaipur Catering Dealers Committee unveiled its vibrant and colorful New Year 2025 calendar with grandeur and dazzling lights at Rasam Resort, Badi Road. Alongside this, the committee also organized its New Year meet-and-greet event.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasia, Calendar Unveiler Narendra Paliwal (State President of VIPRA Foundation), and distinguished guests, including social worker Pramod Samar, former State Minister Jagdish Raj Shrimali, Hindu Jagran Manch Chittor Province’s Ravikant Tripathi, Annu Agarwal (President of Hadoti Halwai Caterers Association, Kota), Manoj Sewani (President of Jaipur Catering Dealers Committee), Kamal Gurjar (President of Udaipur Catering Dealers Committee), Naresh Bandwal (Secretary), and other committee members, who together launched the calendar.

Chief Guest MP Chunnilal Garasia remarked that the catering professionals of Udaipur, known as the city of lakes, not only serve food at events ranging from modest to royal weddings but also represent the city’s culture. He emphasized the need to address the challenge of late-night food service that these professionals endure.

Social worker Pramod Samar highlighted the dedication of catering professionals, who tirelessly work day and night to ensure the success of events. “While we enjoy ourselves for a few hours, these individuals sacrifice their time and effort to focus on food, decoration, and arrangements, even as their families await their return,” he said, stressing the hardships faced by laborers during late-night events.

Former State Minister Jagdish Raj Shrimali praised Udaipur's catering professionals for maintaining the city's reputation in royal weddings. He credited their culinary skills for making Udaipur a hub for royal and destination weddings, where guests relish exceptional food, hospitality, and service.

Calendar Unveiler Narendra Paliwal (VIPRA Foundation) said that with Udaipur becoming a hub for royal weddings and high-profile events involving industrialists and politicians, the responsibilities of catering professionals have increased. He advocated for setting time limits for catering services, similar to sound restrictions, to ensure laborers are relieved on time. He called for discussions with local authorities and government on this issue.

Kamal Gurjar, President of the Committee, expressed gratitude to the organizing team and philanthropists for their support, noting that 40 welcome gates had been installed across the city to mark the New Year and the calendar launch.

Secretary Naresh Bandwal acknowledged the challenges of providing food until late at night and resuming service early the next morning, equating it to exploitation of labor. He emphasized the need for time restrictions on catering services, starting with his own family events, where he pledged to enforce such limits. The association plans to consult with its federation and local administration to address this issue.

Campaign Against Food Wastage: UCDS Initiative
During the calendar launch ceremony, committee members also announced a campaign titled "Respect Food: UCDS Initiative" to reduce food wastage at events. Efforts will include posters, banners, and appeals to guests to minimize food wastage.

Catering Dealers Association members and workers attended the event in large numbers, marking it a grand success.
