Udaipur: On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Rajasthan Hoteliers Club and Gaurav Pratap Kendra jointly organised a special programme at Gaurav Pratap Kendra in Udaipur to deliberate on tourism development and ways to showcase Mewar’s rich historical heritage, art, culture and traditions at the national and international level.
The discussions focused on giving Udaipur tourism a fresh impetus and positioning the region’s heritage more prominently on the global tourism map.
The programme was attended by chief and distinguished guests, including Anurag Saxena, Bhagwati Prasad Sharma, Chef Vimal Dhar and Chef Sangeeta Dhar of the Royal Rajasthan Chef Society. Rajasthan Hoteliers Club President Karan Singh Champawat, Founder Rajnikant Sharma, Narendra Mehta and Surendra Singh Rathore were also present along with other dignitaries.
A key focus of the discussions was the historical significance of Diver and the victory of Maharana Pratap, with participants deliberating on ways to highlight its importance on the global tourism map. Speakers said Mewar’s history, valour, traditions and cultural heritage could be integrated with tourism to create distinctive experiences for visitors from India and abroad.
Participants also shared suggestions for increasing tourist footfall in Udaipur, improving tourism infrastructure and facilities, and providing visitors with opportunities to experience Mewar’s folk art, culture, cuisine and historic sites.
As part of the World Tourism Day celebrations, tourists visiting Udaipur were warmly welcomed and felicitated. The programme also highlighted Mewar’s longstanding tradition of hospitality and its potential to become a defining part of the region’s tourism identity.
At the conclusion of the programme, the Rajasthan Hoteliers Club and Gaurav Pratap Kendra reiterated their commitment to working together to promote Mewar’s heritage, culture and tourism and give the region a stronger identity on the global tourism stage.
