Udaipur: A contingent of lacrosse players from Rajasthan, selected to represent India at the Asia Pacific Lacrosse Olympic Qualifier to be held at Sunshine Coast, Australia, from October 5 to 10, has left for Agra for an advanced high-performance training camp.
As part of their preparations for the international competition, the players will undergo an intensive training programme in Agra until October 3. Under the guidance of expert coaches, they will receive specialised technical, physical and tactical training before departing for Australia with the Indian contingent.
On the occasion, Lok Sabha MP Dr Mannalal Rawat extended his best wishes to the Rajasthan players and appreciated their consistent performance. He particularly highlighted the achievements of athletes who have emerged from the local tribal region and established themselves at the national and international levels.
Dr Rawat said that players from tribal areas have created a distinct identity in sports through their hard work, talent and determination. Their achievements, he said, are a source of inspiration not only for Udaipur and Rajasthan but also for young people across the country. He wished the players success and an outstanding performance at the international qualifier.
The Rajasthan contingent participating in the Asia Pacific Qualifier includes Sunita Meena, Yashishtha Batra, Dali Gameti, Yashoda Gameti, Meera Dauja, Jula Kumari Gurjar, Roshni Bose, Jhanvi Rathore, Mohanlal Gameti, Khumaram Gameti, Narayan Lal Gameti and Nishant Nagda, among others.
The players expressed their gratitude to the Governor of Rajasthan, Government of Rajasthan, local public representatives, Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML) and the Udaipur administration for their support and encouragement throughout their selection journey and preparations for the international championship.
