Udaipur: On Monday, UDH Minister Mr. Jabar Singh Kharra inaugurated the newly installed decorative poles and street lighting along the road from Bhuvana to Pratapnagar Chowk, a project undertaken by the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) at a cost of Rs. 2.25 crore. As soon as the minister pressed the inauguration button near the Women’s Police Station Flyover at Pratapnagar, the entire stretch was illuminated, showcasing the enhanced safety and modern infrastructure for city residents. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kharra emphasized that providing modern and secure traffic facilities is a top priority of the government. The event was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasiya, Udaipur Rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena, former UIT Chairman Ravindra Shrimali, social worker Gajpal Singh, UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, Secretary Hemendra Nagar, along with UDA officials, local representatives, social workers, and distinguished citizens. Maintenance Included in Street Lighting Project UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain stated that the cost of the street lighting includes five years of maintenance. He also announced that on Tuesday, a series of development projects worth a total of Rs. 32.63 crore will be inaugurated. These include 7 major road construction projects and 4 drainage development works, aimed at improving traffic management and stormwater drainage in the city. Launch of Residential Schemes Commissioner Jain further informed that in line with the state government’s vision for housing, the authority will launch e-lottery applications for 1,109 residential plots across three schemes: South Extension Sector A – 550 plots Kaladwas (Udyam Vihar) – 311 plots Nauhra (Nandeshwar Enclave) – 248 plots These plots will cater to various income groups, including economically weaker sections, lower, middle, and higher income categories. Road Construction Projects Worth Rs. 21.19 Crore Major road works include: NH-8, Balicha Tiraha to Kundal – profile correction and asphalt work (Rs. 7.12 crore) Revenue Village Dhikli – 60-foot master plan road strengthening (Rs. 4.27 crore) UDA Mira Nagar Scheme, Bhuvana – 100-foot master plan road connection (Rs. 3.21 crore) Kaladwas Residential Scheme – internal road construction (Rs. 2.90 crore) South Extension Scheme Block C – internal roads (Rs. 3.10 crore) Drainage Projects Worth Rs. 11.44 Crore Drainage works include: Sapetiya, Samta Nagar, BG Nagar to Mansarovar Colony – Rs. 4.09 crore Revenue Village Bhuvana to Jhalo Pond – Rs. 2.93 crore Eklingpura Village to Aayad River – Rs. 2.68 crore Parshuram Chowk to Janakpuri – Rs. 1.74 crore With road construction totaling Rs. 21.19 crore and drainage works Rs. 11.44 crore, the city will receive development projects worth Rs. 32.63 crore on Tuesday. These initiatives are expected to enhance traffic management, provide relief from waterlogging, and contribute to the city’s beautification.
