Udaipur: Around 200 young cyclists participated in the four-day 70th District-Level Student Cycling Championship, which concluded at Happy Home on Wednesday. The competition, featuring Under-17 and Under-19 boys and girls in track and road cycling events, began on September 20.
The championship was organised at the Khelgaon Track Ground, where participants competed in various track and road cycling events and showcased their sporting skills.
Government Senior Secondary School, Asoliya Ki Madri, emerged as the winners, while Government Senior Secondary School, Darauli, secured the runners-up trophy.
Players finishing first and second in their respective events have been selected to represent Udaipur district at the state-level championship. The track cycling team will compete in Jaipur, while the road cycling team will participate in the state championship in Sri Ganganagar.
The closing ceremony was attended by chief guest Shakti Singh Rawal, Principal, Rakhyawal, and special guest Jagdish Arora. Dr Sushma Arora presided over the ceremony. Winners securing first, second and third positions in various events were presented prizes.
Cycling Road Coordinator Durgesh Singh Solanki thanked the guests, participants, officials and supporters for contributing to the successful conduct of the championship. The programme was hosted by Prerna Mahawar, while Group Principal Dr Jyotsna Pandey proposed the vote of thanks.
