UDAIPUR, Bharatiya Janata Party workers and local residents in Udaipur’s Prem Nagar area marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday on Thursday by lighting lamps as part of a state BJP-led campaign.
The event, held under the “Seva Hi Sankalp” campaign, saw participants light what organizers called “Aashirwad Ka Diya,” or blessing lamps, at their homes and public places. Participants offered prayers and good wishes for Modi’s health and long life and for the country’s future, according to BJP media in-charge Dr. Seema Champawat.
Among those attending were Railway Advisory Committee member Jayesh Champawat, Raj Champawat, R.K. Rai, Pratima Rai, Kailash Chandra Sahu, Nikhil Jain, Khushbu Jain, Sarika Jain, Saksham Jain, Shalini Jain, Monica Jain, Rahul Jain, Hitarth Jain, Shweta Jain and Deepak Jain.
Participants also highlighted Modi’s public service career, noting that his tenure as Gujarat’s chief minister began on Oct. 7, 2001. They said his political journey has now completed 25 years and cited his government’s focus on a “developed and self-reliant India.”
The celebration created a festive atmosphere in Prem Nagar, with participants exchanging sweets and greetings. Local women, young people and senior citizens also attended the event.
