Ananta Hospital Organises Oncology CNE Programme to Strengthen Cancer Nursing Care

Rajsamand: Recognising the critical role of nursing professionals in cancer treatment and patient care, Ananta Medical College Hospital organised a Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) programme titled ‘Oncology CNE: Excellence in Cancer Nursing Care’ for its nursing staff.

The programme was conducted under the theme ‘Educate – Empower – Elevate Cancer Care’, with the objective of enhancing the knowledge, clinical skills and professional competencies of nursing personnel involved in caring for cancer patients.

Executive Director Dr Nitin Sharma said such training initiatives play an important role in strengthening the capabilities of nursing professionals and improving the quality of healthcare services. He emphasised that cancer treatment involves several complexities and requires coordinated efforts by doctors and nursing staff. Well-trained nurses can contribute significantly to patient safety, timely identification of complications and effective management of treatment-related challenges.

During the programme, participants received training in various aspects of oncology nursing, including cancer care, chemotherapy safety protocols, identification and management of treatment-related side effects, and patient safety practices. The sessions included expert lectures, case discussions and hands-on skill development activities, enabling nursing staff to gain practical insights into the challenges involved in cancer care.

Medical Oncologist Dr Jatin Chaudhary and Interventional Radiologist Dr Navjeet Kaur delivered detailed sessions on palliative therapy for cancer patients. They discussed the importance of palliative care in managing symptoms, relieving treatment-related discomfort and improving patients' quality of life. They also highlighted the need for a compassionate and multidisciplinary approach to supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.

Medical Oncologist Dr Bhratru Bhushan Yadav and Nursing Superintendent Mahipal Singh, along with doctors and nursing professionals from the institution, were present at the programme.

The initiative aimed to strengthen professional skills among nursing personnel and promote more effective, safe and compassionate care for cancer patients.
