Officials Urged to Address Public Issues with Sensitivity—District Head

District Council General Assembly Meeting

Udaipur : The general assembly meeting of the Udaipur District Council was held on Wednesday in the District Council hall, chaired by District Head Mrs. Mamta Kunwar. The meeting was attended by Udaipur city MLA Tarachand Jain, Udaipur rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena, Vallabhnagar MLA Udaylal Dangi, and Deputy District Head Pushkar Teli, along with other public representatives.

During the meeting, District Head Mamta Kunwar emphasized that officials from all departments should address public issues and problems raised in the assembly with sensitivity, and effectively implement the directives and suggestions received from the council. The meeting commenced with District Council CEO Hemendra Nagar welcoming attendees and presenting the minutes of the previous meeting for approval.

The assembly discussed the progress of various departmental plans and development projects. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Shankar Lal Bamaniya provided information on the efforts being made at the departmental level to prevent seasonal diseases. Various members raised issues related to healthcare in their respective areas, to which the CMHO assured that appropriate actions would be taken.

**New Substations Approved in the Budget:**
The meeting also addressed the electrification of villages in remote areas that have been deprived of electricity for various reasons. District Council CEO Hemendra Nagar mentioned that the state budget had approved several new substations, which would help alleviate the load-shedding issues in different regions. Additionally, rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena highlighted that if contractors were paying less than the government rates for the wages of contract workers, action should be taken against them.

**Discussion on Damaged Roads:**
During discussions related to the Public Works Department, members requested prompt repair and reinforcement of damaged roads across various areas of the district. Department officials informed that the state government had recently sanctioned funds for the repair of various roads and bridges in the district, and repairs would commence soon. The District Council CEO instructed officials to ensure that necessary repairs were carried out quickly to provide relief to the public. For the repair of the Udaipur-Salumber road, the CEO directed the forest department officials to issue approvals within 10 days and instructed RSRDC to start the repair work.

**Instructions for Expediting Pending Water Life Mission Projects:**
The assembly discussed matters related to the Public Health Engineering Department, particularly regarding ongoing works under the Water Life Mission. Members pointed out that the projects were stalled, causing inconvenience due to road excavations. The Chief Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department assured that the stalled projects would be resumed promptly. Additionally, repairs would be coordinated with agencies and contractors where roads were dug up. The District Head suggested monitoring the ongoing projects under the Water Life Mission through a district-level committee.

Similarly, during the general assembly, members raised issues related to the Agriculture Department, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, and Revenue among others, and relevant officials assured that appropriate actions would be taken swiftly.
