Udaipur: In anticipation of the upcoming Diwali festival, District Collector Arvind Poswal convened a meeting on Thursday with hotel operators and representatives of commercial organizations. The discussions focused on enhancing various aspects of the city's preparations, including cleanliness, traffic management, and other general arrangements. During the meeting, stakeholders provided valuable suggestions and recommendations, and the concerned authorities were issued essential directives.
District Collector Poswal emphasized the crucial role of civil societies in maintaining the city's infrastructure. He highlighted that improved coordination among stakeholders could lead to better arrangements. He stressed that residents and tourists should not face any difficulties related to cleanliness and traffic management during the festival. Therefore, a special initiative has been launched to ensure the entire city's cleanliness, with a focus on eliminating any existing garbage. Additionally, one-way traffic arrangements are being ensured as needed.
The Municipal Commissioner, Vasudev Malavat, informed that regular nighttime cleaning of tourist spots is underway by the Municipal Corporation. Every year, colorful rangoli designs adorn all wards of the city during Diwali. This year, essential arrangements are being made to ensure a smooth experience. The Traffic Police Department has arranged for 10 parking points around the Municipal Town Hall, particularly for Diwali fairs. Adequate arrangements for traffic and parking at tourist locations are also being implemented.
Various organizations' representatives, present at the meeting, suggested various initiatives, including installing dustbins at tourist spots, creating tree parking at Ashwini Bazaar, addressing illegal vendors, ensuring a hassle-free experience for tourists, providing accurate traffic point information on the Smart City mobile app, and establishing dividers for potters' stalls at the Overbridge. District Collector Poswal issued necessary directions to relevant authorities during the meeting.
