Good Governance Day Celebrated with Tribute to Atal Ji

Udaipur, December 25. The birthday of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was celebrated as Good Governance Day on Wednesday. The event was organized jointly by the district administration and the municipal corporation at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium. During the program, elected representatives and officials took an oath to uphold good governance.

While addressing the gathering, Chief Guest, Udaipur Rural MLA Shri Phoolsingh Meena, spoke about Shri Vajpayee's personality and contributions, stating that he dedicated his entire life to serving the nation and established high ideals as a public representative. He emphasized that inspired by Shri Vajpayee’s life, it is the responsibility of every elected representative and public servant to ensure good governance for the common people.

Special guests including Shri K.K. Gupta, Coordinator of Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), Girish Sharma, and Nareshkumar Sharma also shared their thoughts. The event began with the lighting of lamps and offering floral tributes to the portrait of Shri Vajpayee. MLA Shri Meena took the oath of establishing the highest standards of governance, making it more transparent, participatory, welfare-oriented, and accountable.

 

During the program, sanitation workers, SULAB caretakers, and women from self-help groups were honored with certificates of appreciation. The Swachh Bharat Swachh Udaipur poster was also unveiled. Officials and employees from the district administration, municipal corporation, and various departments attended the event. Additionally, Good Governance Day was also celebrated at each Gram Panchayat and block headquarters, where local representatives and employees took the oath to uphold good governance.
