Rising Attraction Towards Silk in Udaipur

Udaipur: The "Silk of India" fair organized by Shri Krishna Art and Crafts at the Municipal Corporation premises is witnessing immense popularity. From its inauguration to the closing day, the fair has been drawing hundreds of visitors daily. The vibrant expressions on the faces of the traders reflect the fulfillment of their expectations and aspirations in Udaipur.

Several traders have noted the growing interest of Udaipur's residents in silk. Many of them have been participating in the Silk Fair since its inception, and their loyalty to the event speaks volumes about its success. One trader remarked, “Year after year, the love and enthusiasm from Udaipur’s people only grow stronger. This year, the excitement among the locals for silk is truly remarkable.”

A Joyful Experience for Traders
Sahu Ram, a trader displaying Jodhpuri Bandhej sarees, shared his consistent participation in the fair. “Ever since my first experience in Udaipur, I’ve eagerly awaited this event every year. This year, the sales of Bandhej sarees and suits have exceeded my expectations,” he said. His collection features hand-tied and dyed sarees, with prices ranging from ₹850 to ₹3,500. He confidently guarantees the colorfast quality of his sarees, offering replacements if any issues arise, though he has never faced such a situation.

Unique Features of Bandhej Sarees
The Bandhej sarees are available in three varieties: silk, chiffon, and chinon. While silk remains the most expensive due to the intricate handwork involved, chiffon and chinon are more affordable. These sarees are lightweight, require no ironing after washing, and maintain their vibrant colors for years.

The Silk of India fair continues to captivate Udaipur's residents, reinforcing their growing admiration for silk and its timeless elegance.
