Udaipur: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of Sai Tirupati University successfully organised a seven-day special camp from September 25 to October 1, with volunteers enthusiastically participating in a range of social, educational and public awareness activities.
Based on the NSS motto “Not Me, But You,” the camp focused on developing a spirit of community service and social responsibility among students.
The camp commenced with an inaugural ceremony. Dr. Suresh Chandra Goyal, Principal, PIMS, spoke about the importance of community service in strengthening the relationship between doctors and patients. Dr. Dileep Kumar L., Academic Director, highlighted the significance of NSS and its role in the overall personality development of students.
During the seven-day camp, volunteers conducted several activities, including a road safety awareness campaign in Umarda, a cleanliness drive at Fateh Sagar, a health camp and rabies awareness programme at Government Upper Primary School, Dedkiya, a women’s empowerment awareness programme in Lakdwas, and a donation drive for needy people at Ashadham Ashram.
These initiatives aimed to sensitise students towards social responsibilities, public awareness and community service while providing them with opportunities to engage directly with local communities.
On the concluding day, a blood donation camp was organised under the leadership of Dr. Chandra Mathur. Students and NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically and helped spread awareness about the importance of blood donation. The blood donation drive marked the conclusion of the seven-day special camp.
University Chairperson Ashish Agrawal said such programmes were organised regularly to connect students with community service and foster a sense of social responsibility among them.
Sai Tirupati University President Dr. Prashant Nahar and Registrar Dr. Devendra Jain appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers and encouraged them to continue participating actively in social welfare and community-oriented initiatives.
The activities during the camp were conducted under the guidance of NSS Programme Coordinator Deepak Teli and Programme Officers Dr. Avantika Gupta, Dr. Suresh Dev and Anand Trivedi. Representatives from various colleges of the university and NSS volunteers actively contributed to the camp.
The special camp aimed to promote leadership skills, discipline, social awareness, a spirit of service and community participation among students through practical engagement in social and public welfare activities.
