Udaipur: As part of the seven-day special camp organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of Sai Tirupati University, Umarda, NSS volunteers conducted a donation and support drive at Ashadham Ashram, Udaipur, on Wednesday.
During the initiative, the volunteers donated essential items for the needy residents of the ashram, including clothes, footwear, bedsheets, bags, hygiene products and other daily-use materials.
Members of the NSS Cell, including Deepak Teli, Dr Avantika Gupta, Dr Maldev Rana, Dr Suresh Dev, Yash and Muskan, along with other university staff members, Dr Rajyalakshmi Chepuru, Dr Abhishek Mukherjee, Dr Shivangi Yadav, Pankaj Menaria, Prem Prakash Salvi, interns and NSS volunteers, participated in the drive. The collected materials were jointly handed over to the ashram management for appropriate distribution among those in need.
On the occasion, Sai Tirupati University Chairperson Ashish Agarwal said that the university’s NSS Cell regularly organises social service and community welfare initiatives. Such programmes aim to nurture a spirit of service, social responsibility and sensitivity towards underprivileged sections of society among students.
The initiative was aimed at encouraging students to engage in community service and contribute towards supporting people in need. The ashram management expressed gratitude to the university’s NSS Cell and the entire team for their thoughtful initiative.
Through the campaign, the NSS volunteers conveyed the message that even small efforts can bring about positive change in society and that extending support to those in need is an important expression of social responsibility.
