Jaipur to Host Bird Festival Organized by Green People Society

Udaipur/Jaipur:** The **Jaipur Bird Festival-2026**, aimed at promoting bird, nature, and wetland conservation, will be held on **January 31 and February 1, 2026**, in Jaipur. This **two-day state-level festival** is being organized by the **Green People Society, Jaipur Chapter**, in collaboration with the **Rajasthan Government’s Forest Department** and **WWF India**. The festival theme, **“Join the Celebration of Wings & Wetlands,”** seeks to raise awareness among the public, especially students, about the importance of bird conservation and wetland ecosystems. The festival will take place at **Kanota Camp Resort, Jamdoli, Jaipur**. **Inspired by Udaipur Bird Festival** According to **Vikram Singh**, Vice President of the Green People Society and coordinator of the Jaipur Bird Festival (retired IAS officer), this event is inspired by the **success of the Udaipur Bird Festival**, which over the past 12 years has established itself as a prominent national platform. The Jaipur festival represents a strong continuation of efforts to promote nature conservation. ### **January 31: A Day of Education, Creativity, and Awareness** The first day, **January 31, 2026**, will focus on **educational, creative, and awareness-building activities**. The main session of the Jaipur Bird Festival will be held **from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM**. Activities for students will include a **Nature Quiz** and **painting competition**, aimed at cultivating sensitivity and interest in nature among children. Other attractions on the first day include: * **Raptors exhibition** and **advanced VR experience** * **Bird photography and painting exhibitions** * **Philately (stamp) exhibition** Special **workshops for educators and writers** will also be held to encourage bird- and environment-related writing. ### **Workshops and State-Level Conference** Vikram Singh stated that the festival will organize a **training workshop for about 30 resource persons**, enabling them to educate students in their institutions about birds and nature. Additionally, a **writing workshop for 15 emerging writers** will provide guidance from experienced experts. A **state-level conference** will also take place, with participation from senior officials from the **Forest, Environment, and Tourism Departments**, **WWF India**, selected NGOs, educators, and conservation experts. Around **100 participants** are expected to engage in in-depth discussions on conservation issues. ### **February 1: Field Visits to Wetlands and Wildlife Areas** On the second day, **February 1, 2026**, participants will undertake **field visits to major wetlands and wildlife areas** in and around Jaipur. Planned sites include: * **Sambhar Salt Lake** * **Barkheda-Chandlai-Muhana region** * **Keoladeo National Park (Bharatpur)** * **Tal Chhapar Sanctuary (Churu)** * **Ranthambore or Sariska Tiger Reserve** Vikram Singh emphasized that the festival is not just an event but a **collective effort to foster balance between humans and nature**, promoting awareness and engagement with ecological conservation.
