Udaipur: Bhupal Nobles College of Pharmacy, BN University, Udaipur, celebrated World Pharmacists Day on September 25 with a series of awareness and educational activities involving pharmacy students, faculty members and healthcare professionals.
The programme was organised in accordance with the guidelines of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Presiding over the event, College Principal Dr. P. S. Naruka said that a range of activities had been organised around the PCI theme, “Empowering Pharmacists for Healthier Futures,” along with the broader mission of promoting a Healthy India and combating Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).
Pharma Awareness Rally and National Webinar
Programme Nodal Officer Dr. Kamal Singh Rathore said a pharma awareness rally was organised to educate students and members of the local community about Antimicrobial Resistance, rational use of medicines and the risks associated with self-medication. Hundreds of students participated in the rally and spread awareness on these important healthcare issues.
As part of the main programme, a national-level webinar was also organised, featuring Dr. Mahima Maheshwari from the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Ghaziabad, as the keynote speaker.
Dr. Maheshwari elaborated on pharmacovigilance, the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance, the role of pharmacists and the importance of rational antibiotic use. She highlighted the need for responsible medication practices and greater awareness among healthcare professionals and the public.

The programme was attended by BN University President Dr. C. S. Chauhan, Dean Dr. Y. S. Sarangdevot, Dr. J. S. Vaghela, Dr. S. S. The celebrations underlined the important role of pharmacists in promoting safe and rational medicine use and strengthening public health awareness.
