Sri Ganganagar: Adolescent girls and women were sensitised about menstrual hygiene management as part of a special awareness campaign organised from September 28 to 30, 2026, under the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao initiative, in accordance with the directions of the Directorate of Women Empowerment, Rajasthan, Jaipur.

The campaign aimed to promote awareness about girls’ health, nutrition and prevention of anaemia, along with creating greater awareness about menstrual hygiene management.

A programme was organised at Guru Nanak Girls College on Wednesday, where Supervisor Vaishali Agrawal provided adolescent girls with important information on maintaining hygiene during menstruation, personal cleanliness and being alert to health-related concerns. She also explained various aspects of menstrual hygiene management.

During the programme, Supriya Barawar provided counselling to the girls on health and hygiene-related concerns. She encouraged them to remain attentive to their health and seek medical advice whenever they experience any health-related problem.

Nandini, Legal Counsellor from the One Stop Sakhi Centre, briefed the girls about the services available at the centre, including medical assistance, legal aid, temporary shelter and police assistance.

Amanpal Kaur, Social Counsellor at the Pannadhay Suraksha Evam Samman Kendra, informed women and girls about the support services available to address mental, physical, economic and social concerns. She also encouraged them to seek career counselling and guidance from the centre whenever required.

College Principal Dr D.P. Singh and other members of the college staff were also present during the programme.
