Live Demonstration of Rescue Operations for People Trapped in Ropeway Conducted at Neemaj Mata Ropeway

In Udaipur, a comprehensive joint exercise was conducted on Thursday at the Neemaj Mata Ropeway under the direction of 6th Battalion NDRF Commandant Prasanna Kumar and District Collector Arvind Poswal. This exercise was aimed at testing the preparedness of various agencies including NDRF, SDRF, Civil Defense, and Firefighting teams in disaster management.

The live demonstration focused on rescuing individuals trapped in the ropeway. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Civil Defense, and local firefighting units participated in the drill.

The scenario simulated a technical malfunction in a fully loaded ropeway trolley, putting the passengers at risk. The rescue operation showcased how rescuers, using chain pulleys, managed to access the trolley from the Neemaj Mata Temple end, comfort and secure the trapped passengers, and safely lower them to the ground with the help of the ground team.

During the rescue operation, emphasis was placed on coordination, necessary precautions, and the use of essential equipment. The mock drill also included providing immediate medical assistance to those affected by panic during the rescue.

The event was attended by NDRF Inspector Krishna Kumar, SDRF Platoon Commander Bhagwansingh, Head Constable Roshanlal Mali, Fire Officer Shivram Meena, and Civil Defense Team Leader Kailash Menaria, among others. The exercise not only demonstrated the capability and readiness of the teams but also reinforced the importance of preparedness in disaster management.
