Spectators Overwhelmed with Humor and Satire

Laughter and Wit Galore at Poetry Fest

"Gulo-gulshan se mahakte jahaan dekhe hain,
Humne mushkil mein Sikandar mahaan dekhe hain,
Bhoolkar naaz na karna udhaari kismat pe,
Humne baarish mein bhi jalte makaan dekhe hain."

Udaipur: A grand Kavi Sammelan (poetry festival) was organized today at Sukhadia Rangmanch under the joint aegis of the Udaipur District Administration and Rotary Club Mewar as part of the Pt. Vishweshwar Sharma Geet Samman 2024. The event witnessed a magnificent blend of humor, satire, parody, romanticism, and valor in poetry that enthralled the audience. The poets captured everyone’s hearts with their captivating recitations.

The event commenced with a soulful Saraswati Vandana, "Sharade Var De, Raag Mein Veena Vadini..." by poetess Shikha Deepti Dixit.

Sanatan Sanskriti and Heroic Narratives
Sumit Orchha captivated the audience with his poems rooted in Sanatan Sanskriti and tales of Ram and Hanuman. The hall reverberated with applause as he recited:
"Umang aa gayi toh Jai Shri Ram,
Kuchh chhin gaya toh Ram ki ichha..."

He further enthralled listeners with:
"Kisi ka apmaan nahin karta, hadkata nahin hoon,
Jagata hoon main Bharat ko, kabhi bhadkata nahin hoon.
Ho Bharat shreshtha duniya mein yeh aankhon mein sapna hai,
Jo is bhoomi mein janma hai, woh bhai hai woh apna hai."

Sumit also emphasized that avatars on earth continue to bless the world, referencing Uttar Pradesh's cultural richness.

Parody Sparks Roars of Laughter
Kailash Mandela from Shahpura (Bhilwara) amused the audience with his parodies:
"Main zamaanat ke kagazaat le ke aaya hoon,
Kursi par daag chhudaun kaise, laga kursi pe daag…"

His humorous take on political themes left the crowd in splits.

Witty Satire
Surendra Sarthak from Deeg, Rajasthan, presented a delightful verse:
"Khule aakash mein apni kamaai chhod dete hain,
Matha se pet bharte hain malai chhod dete hain.
Agar tum jhooth bhi keh do, maweshi khet mein tere,
Kadakti thand mein jhat se rajai chhod dete hain."

His sharp observations about rural life brought uncontrollable laughter.

Romantic Humor
Sardar Manjeet Singh from Faridabad entertained the audience with his satire:
"Ek Laila ke paanch hain Majnu, Ranjhe ki chhattis heere.
Dating karte badal-badal ke, aaya naya zamaana hai.
Hai jalti aag seene mein, nahin darta Sikandar se,
Magar hoon baap beti ka, dara rehta hoon andar se."

Soulful Poetry
Buddhi Prakash Dadhich’s poignant verses received a resounding applause:
"Gulo-gulshan se mahakte jahaan dekhe hain,
Humne mushkil mein Sikandar mahaan dekhe hain.
Bhoolkar naaz na karna udhaari kismat pe,
Humne baarish mein bhi jalte makaan dekhe hain."

Romantic Resonance
Veteran poet Ramendra Mohan Tripathi from Agra mesmerized the crowd with his romantic lines:
"Ishqan ishqan hawa chali,
Gul se lipat gayi titli.
Humne toh poori koshish ki,
Nahin mili toh nahin mili."

Captivating Renditions
Udaipur's renowned poet Rao Ajatshatru added vibrancy to the event with his sharp humor and stirring compositions. His poem:
"Pati ki arthi ko kandha kshatrani hi de sakti hai,
Parmanu visfot yahan ki dharti hi sah sakti hai,
Gora Badal Rajasthan, Sheron ka dal Rajasthan,"
was met with rapturous applause.

Celebration of Feminine Strength
Shikha Deepti Dixit, the poetess of romanticism, recited:
"Samajhkar saar jeevan ka, main Geeta banke niklungi,
Samarpan kar swayam ka, main Vinita banke niklungi.
Meri aankhon ke Dandaka van mein, tum vanvaas toh kaato,
Mujhe hai Ram ki saugandh, Sita banke niklungi."
Her emotional verses deeply resonated with the audience.
