 Two-Day International Mining Excellence Seminar Concludes

:Udaipur:The two-day International Conference on "Mining Excellence Centre – Continuous Improvement and Asset Optimization" concluded today at Ramee Royal Resort, Udaipur. The event was jointly organized by the Mining Engineers' Association of India (MEAI), Rajasthan Chapter, Udaipur, and Hindustan Zinc Limited, Udaipur.

The closing ceremony was chaired by S.N. Mathur, National President, Mining Engineers' Association of India. The Chief Guest was Deepak Tanwar, Director, Department of Mines and Geology, with Dhananjay Reddy, Vice President (Second) of MEAI, B. Dayasagar, Director, Directorate General of Mines Safety (Udaipur Region), and Mahesh Mathur, Additional Director, Department of Mines and Geology, as distinguished guests.

The dignitaries were welcomed by Praveen Sharma, President of MEAI, Rajasthan Chapter, Udaipur. Organizing Secretary Dr. S.K. Vashistha provided a detailed account of the papers presented across the three sessions and extended gratitude to everyone for making the conference a success.

Former Dean of CTAE and National Council Member Dr. S.S. Rathore reviewed the papers presented during the seminar, recommending that these findings be forwarded to the headquarters, government authorities, and policymakers.

Distinguished Guest Dhananjay Reddy congratulated the organizers and called for the integration of exploration, legal advice, and mineral mining suggestions into practical processes.

B. Dayasagar, Director of Mines Safety, emphasized the importance of modernizing mines to contribute to India's growth, stating that collective efforts are essential for national development.

Mahesh Mathur, Additional Director, highlighted the incorporation of drone surveys into the new mineral policy, considering it a milestone towards effective policy implementation.

Chief Guest Deepak Tanwar pointed out that only 5% of mineral exploration has been completed in India so far, which is significantly lower than the international standard. To address this, NMET and RMET have been established at the national and state levels. He asserted that this conference marks the beginning of modernization, which would help improve safety and reduce mining operation costs. He also stressed the proper use of data to curb illegal mining and advocated for the productive use of waste materials and the conversion of barren land for agricultural purposes. The innovations discussed during the conference are expected to set new standards in technical and innovative mining practices.

Chairperson S.N. Mathur praised all the research papers presented at the conference, especially appreciating contributions by D.D. Tripathi, Anushree, Rajli Dey from Gujarat, Lalit Mohan Soni, Prashant Gupta, Naresh KSL, and Shashank Gupta from Hindustan Zinc Limited. He also specially commended the paper on Artificial Intelligence and Drone Technology presented by Dr. Hitanshu Kaushal.

Special contributors to the success of the event, including Narendra Kawadiya, Dr. S.C. Jain, M.K. Mehta, S.L. Sukhwal, Maqbool Ahmed, R.P. Mali, Hitanshu Kaushal, R.C. Kumawat, Gopal Dangi, O.P. Agal, and Satyanarayan Joshi, were honored.

The program was conducted by Organizing Secretary Dr. S.K. Vashistha, with a vote of thanks delivered by Secretary Asif M. Ansari. At the beginning of the ceremony, a two-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to the tourists who recently lost their lives in Pahalgam.
