QUALITY CONTROL & WORKS TRAINING CENTRE IN SAPTA SHAKTI COMMAND
Jaipur, Chetak Zonal Quality Control & Works Training Centre has been established at Bhatinda military station under the aegis of South Wester Command. The Centre was recently inaugurated by Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, South Western Command.
This state of art facility will allow the users, Project Monitoring Groups (PMG), contractors and executives to be educated on Quality control, latest construction techniques, testing of materials in all construction and infrastructure development projects. Incorporating a Zonal Test Laboratory and a Quality control Centre, it has become the nodal centre for Chief Engineer, Bathinda Zone to not only test quality of ongoing civil works, but also to meet laid down standards of civil engineering works.
Quality of works and maintenance endeavours need to be of optimum standards for usefulness, longevity and sustenance. To enhance awareness on testing, sampling & works procedure the centre consists of three parts i.e. a Civil Engineering Test Lab, Sample Room and a PMG corner.
While the PMG corner comprises of information to educate the users regarding best construction practices as well as latest construction techniques, the Civil Engineering Test Lab is designed to facilitate various tests of the construction materials and training of the personnel involved with works including Site Engineers & Junior Engineers of ongoing projects. This facility will also enable exposure to latest trends, designs & quality of products being tested and made available for constructions.
This centre is a remarkable step by South Western Command in planning projects with latest specifications in materials & processes, to ensure optimum quality of construction, bringing transparency in execution of works and also improving the quality of AMWP works.
