Heartfelt Celebration of Ashoka and Ambedkar Jayanti

Udaipur . Lokjan Seva Sansthan organized a grand celebration of the birth anniversaries of Emperor Ashoka and Constitution Maker Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at the Somani Auditorium of Shramjeevi College.
The chief guest of the event was Prof. Colonel S.S. Sarangdevot, with Colonel Charanjeet Singh as the special guest. Other dignitaries included Brigadier Dr. Sawai Singh Jaitawat, Laxman Singh Karnawat, and Dr. Mishrilal Mandot. The program was presided over by Prof. Umashankar Sharma.
The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, invocation of Goddess Saraswati, and floral tributes to portraits of both iconic personalities.
Prof. Vimal Sharma, President of the Sansthan, welcomed the gathering and shared that this may be the only event in the city to commemorate Emperor Ashoka’s birth anniversary. He also recited a self-composed poem in honor of both historical figures.
Prof. Sarangdevot highlighted that Emperor Ashoka had established 23 universities, making India a global leader in education and spirituality. He added that the rock edicts carved during Ashoka's reign still serve as powerful testimonies of his great deeds.
Prof. Umashankar Sharma emphasized that Emperor Ashoka represents the ideal ruler and that his principles of Dhamma continue to be relevant even today.
Other speakers, including Prof. Mishrilal Mandot, Brigadier Jaitawat, Colonel Charanjeet Singh, and Dr. Manish Shrimali, shared their thoughts on the contributions of both Ashoka and Ambedkar.
Renowned national poet Shrenidan Charan recited a stirring patriotic poem. General Secretary Jay Kishan Chaubey conducted the program and invited suggestions for the upcoming Udaipur Foundation Day celebration.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Manoharlal Mudda. The event was attended by office bearers of the institution, members, and notable citizens of the city.
