15-Day Certificate Program Successfully Conducted at Sangam University, Bhilwara
A 15-day short-term certificate program on “Practical Applications of Bioinformatics: Genomic Analysis” was successfully organized at Sangam University, Bhilwara from March 17 to April 4, 2025. The program aimed to acquaint participants with the latest techniques and research in the fields of bioinformatics and genomic analysis.
Spanning over three weeks, the event featured lectures and hands-on sessions conducted by experts from renowned institutions across the country. The participants were provided in-depth knowledge on modern bioinformatics methods and their practical applications.
Week 1 Highlights:
Sessions focused on foundational topics such as bioinformatics and genomic databases, sequence alignment, genome assembly and annotation, and functional genome annotation. Notable speakers included Dr. Tikam Chand Dakal (MLSU) and Dr. Abhishek Kumar (Manipal University, Hyderabad).
Week 2 Highlights:
Advanced subjects such as comparative genomics, phylogenetic analysis, protein modeling, molecular docking, and cutting-edge bioinformatics applications were covered. Experts who delivered sessions included Alisha Parveen (Manipal University, Hyderabad), Dr. Tikam Chand Dakal, Dr. Abhishek Kumar, and Dr. Ankita Singh (Dehradun, Uttarakhand).
Week 3 Highlights:
Focused on biostatistics, scientific writing and publication, and the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in genomics, along with detailed case studies. Key speakers were Dr. Harish (MLSU), Dr. Narottam Sharma, and Dr. Ankita Singh (Dehradun, Uttarakhand).
