Udaipur : For the first time in India, a cadaver-based advanced dry needling therapy workshop was organized by the Pacific College of Physiotherapy, under Pacific Medical University. The workshop aimed at providing hands-on training to physiotherapy students and professionals on real human cadavers.

Renowned expert Dr. Jane Damer Halt from the USA shared in-depth practical knowledge of dry needling therapy. She emphasized that this technique is one of the most effective methods for treating myofascial pain. By inserting fine needles at trigger points, this therapy helps relieve muscle pain, improve flexibility, increase joint range of motion, enhance blood circulation, and reduce stiffness. Dr. Jane highlighted that the technique is based on modern research and can be a game-changer for physiotherapists.

Scientific Advisor Dr. K.M. Annamalai informed that experts such as Dr. Vardhman Jain (Mumbai), Dr. Vivek, Seema Grover (Apollo Delhi), Dr. Neha Kheda, and Dr. Vinayak (Pune) along with many physiotherapy students participated in the workshop.

Chairperson Rahul Agrawal and CEO Sharad Kothari of Pacific Medical College & Hospital shared that an advanced physiotherapy center has been established at the college. The center will offer training in the latest physiotherapy techniques to empower students to excel in their field. They also mentioned that such workshops will be conducted regularly to establish Pacific College of Physiotherapy as a leading institute in the country.

Dean Dr. Zafar Khan and Dr. Praveen Rawat, the workshop organizers, welcomed the participants and presented emerging physiotherapy treatments being used in medical sciences. Dr. Khan elaborated on pain management and trigger point therapy taught during the session.

The success of the workshop was made possible under the guidance of University President Dr. M.M. Mangal and active support from Dr. Heena Sharma, Pritesh Menaria, and faculty from the Anatomy and Physiotherapy departments.
