Udaipur: A four-day workshop on **“Tribal Wall Painting and Mandana Art”** was inaugurated at the Manikya Lal Verma Tribal Research and Training Institute, Udaipur, under the joint collaboration of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, the Tribal Regional Development Department, and TRI, Udaipur.
The Director of the Institute, Mr. O.P. Jain, highlighted the purpose of the workshop, emphasizing the need to bring the talents of tribal artists to the forefront and ensure that their creations reach the market.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Madan Singh Rathod, Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at MLSU, referred to female artists as the "soul of art" and elaborated on the significance of tribal art and culture. Special Guest, Mr. Ramsingh Bhati, Assistant Professor at Meera Girls College, explained that Mandana art is typically created on the ground during special occasions, while wall paintings are an expression of an artist's emotions portrayed on walls. In the workshop, artists will now express their creativity on canvas.
The residential workshop will feature 24 artists from various districts showcasing their artistic skills on canvas. The visiting guests also participated by creating artworks on canvas, providing a live demonstration of their talent. The event was attended by the Assistant Director of the Institute, Mr. Banwari Lal, workshop coordinator Mr. Dinesh Upadhyay, and various artists. The event was conducted by Lecturer Harshvadan Singh Solanki.
