Udaipur: On the occasion of Rajasthan Day, as part of the weekly celebrations initiated by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, a Farmers' Conference was held on the second day, Wednesday. The event took place at the Sukhadia Rangmanch auditorium, hosted by Udaipur Rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena, Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani, District Collector Namit Mehta, social worker Pramod Sagar, and Gajpalsingh, among others. The state-level conference, held in Bikaner, was broadcast live at the district-level event. Additionally, grants and benefits were distributed to farmers under various schemes.
Speaking at the event, Udaipur Rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena emphasized that the Agriculture Department is a service-oriented department, urging farmers to take advantage of departmental schemes. Social worker Gajpalsingh noted the welfare and upliftment of the farming community through the central and state government schemes. Social worker Pramod Samar highlighted that whenever food scarcity has occurred in the country, it has been the farmers who have supported the nation. He also discussed how Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) will help fulfill farmers' dreams and mentioned the many budget announcements made for farmers by the government.
**DBT Grants and Symbolic Checks Presented to Farmers**
During the conference, various farmers were benefitted through schemes from the Agriculture Department. Beneficiaries, including Roshan Lal, Bherulal, Motilal, Bot Lal, Veniram, Raju Devi, Ramlal, Bhurilal, Jagannath, Dalichand, Pushpendra Singh, and others, received assistance under the Agricultural Grant Scheme. These farmers were awarded grant amounts ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹2.1 lakh through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system for purposes such as farm ponds, sprinkler sets, solar energy pumps, fencing, agricultural machinery, and multi-crop threshers.
Additionally, the Horticulture Department provided economic assistance to farmers, including Manaram, Sundarlal, Bherulal, and Mangilal, under schemes like polyhouse installation, low-cost onion storage, and high-value vegetable production in polyhouses. These farmers received financial aid ranging from ₹14.61 lakh to ₹32.072 lakh to enhance their production capacity using advanced techniques.
The Udaipur Central Cooperative Bank Limited also distributed benefits under the Gopal Credit Card Scheme, Cooperative Farmers Welfare Scheme, and Micro ATM Scheme. Niranjan Singh Rathod, Additional Director of Agricultural Extension, informed farmers about the latest agricultural technologies and encouraged them to fully utilize these schemes.
The event was attended by ADM Administration Deependra Singh Rathod, CCB Managing Director Animesh Purohit, Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension) Sudhir Kumar Verma, social worker Ravindra Shrimali, and a large number of farmers and departmental officials.
