Dr. PC Jain Addresses Drug-Free Initiative at Udaipur Village

Udaipur: A drug de-addiction camp was organized by Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology under the Smart Village Initiative at the selected village of Hinta, with the Honorable Governor's support. Dr. PC Jain, renowned water conservation expert and the chief guest of the event, shared his personal experiences and highlighted real-life stories of addiction, offering practical solutions for overcoming it.

During the camp, Dr. Jain spoke about the severe impact of substance abuse, including alcohol, cannabis, tobacco, gutkha, and other narcotic substances, which are destroying families and leading to economic instability in the village. He emphasized that excessive alcohol consumption was a major factor in broken families and rising crimes.

The attendees, including students from the National Service Scheme (NSS) of various university departments, took an oath to stay away from drugs and sang an anti-addiction song together. Dr. RS Rathore, the Smart Village coordinator, informed about various awareness programs being carried out in the village.

Additionally, Dr. Monica from the College of Community and Behavioral Sciences discussed the religious significance of tree conservation, while Dr. Kusum Meghwal of the CDPT conducted a street play by children to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse. Dr. Ranveer Singh Shekhawat, from CTAE, provided a brief talk on rainwater conservation.
