Lokjan Seva Sansthan Hosts Maharana Bhupal Jayanti Award Ceremony, Lecture, and Book Launch

Udaipur | The Lokjan Seva Sansthan, in collaboration with the Rajasthan Sahitya Academy, organized a lecture, book launch, and award ceremony in celebration of Maharana Bhupal Jayanti at the Sahitya Academy auditorium. The event was chaired by Bhawar Lal Gurjar, Chancellor of Janardan Rai Nagar Vidyapeeth, and attended by Chief Guest Jagdish Raj Shrimali, former Minister of Rajasthan Government and INTUC leader, and Special Guests Prof. Uma Shankar Sharma, former Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Dev Kothari.

The President of the Institution, Prof. Vimal Sharma, informed that after the Saraswati Vandana by Nitu Bapna, Dr. Jay Raj Acharya gave the welcome address and introduced the institution, while General Secretary Jai Kishan Choubey highlighted the background of these events.

The main speaker of the day, Prof. B.P. Sharma, Group President of Pacific University, during his lecture, stated that for over 1200 years, the Parmeshthi-ruled Mewar Empire had 74 Diwans, and the throne of Shri Ekling Nath was never subjugated. Bappa Rawal had driven invaders as far as Iran. Respecting the throne of Ekling Ji, Baji Rao Peshwa rejected the invitation to sit near him in 1636, and even Sardar Patel, on June 14, 1959, prioritized standing over making a request. He emphasized that great men like Thakur Amar Chand Barwa could only be born in the land of Mewar. The bitter truth of history is that Indians also played a role in harming India.

In his presidential address, Mr. Gurjar mentioned that historians have often misrepresented many events due to fear or sycophancy. He emphasized that the time has come for historians to courageously refute these false accounts and reveal the truth. Mewar will always remain indebted to Maharana Bhupal Singh for igniting the flame of education.

In his address, Jagdish Raj Shrimali remarked that the invaluable contribution of Rishi Harit in the establishment of Mewar should always be remembered. It was through his unique disciple, Bappa Rawal, that the Mewar royal dynasty was founded. Prof. Uma Shankar Sharma and Dr. Dev Kothari shed light on the personalities of Bhupal Singh and Thakur Amar Chand Barwa.
