Sri Ganganagar: Governor Shri Haribhau Bagde stated that the documents preserved in the Rajasthan State Archives Museum are living proofs of our history, culture, and traditions. These documents provide a direct link to our glorious past. The Governor expressed these thoughts during his visit to the Bikaner Archives Museum on Monday.
During the visit, the Governor observed the historic *Purandar Treaty* and noted that the treaty offers valuable insight into the relationship between Shivaji Maharaj and the Rajputana rulers. He also visited the Maharana Pratap gallery, the freedom fighters’ gallery, and explored other historical documents and important records.
The Governor reviewed several archival documents related to the historical, administrative, and cultural development of Rajasthan. He appreciated the preservation efforts after observing royal decrees and copper plates from the era of Maharana Pratap. He emphasized that these documents are of immense importance for future generations and will increase awareness of history and culture among the youth.
He also mentioned that these documents are significant from a research perspective, and digitizing them will enhance accessibility and further preservation. The Governor suggested coordinating with archival institutions from other countries and regions for better preservation practices. He encouraged more people to visit and explore the archives.
Archives Director Dr. Nitin Goyal briefed the Governor about all the activities of the Archives.
The event was attended by Divisional Commissioner Dr. Ravikumar Surpur, District Collector Mrs. Namrata Vrishni, Superintendent of Police Mr. Kaveendra Sagar, and various other officials.
