Tribute to Maharana Bhupal Singh on his 141st Birth Anniversary

Udaipur: On the occasion of the 141st birth anniversary of Maharana Bhupal Singh of Mewar, a seminar and floral tribute ceremony was organized at the Secretariat Hall of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) on Monday. The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Rajendra Singh (Paniwale Baba), Vice-Chancellor Colonel Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot, Chancellor Bhawarlal Gurjar, Registrar Dr. Tarun Shrimali, Pith Sthavir Dr. Kaushal Nagda, and Dr. Yuvraj Singh Rathore, who paid their respects by offering floral tributes to his portrait.

While addressing the seminar, Prof. Sarangdevot mentioned that Maharana Bhupal Singh was not just a ruler but also a visionary strategist. He was the first Chancellor of Maharana Bhupal Singh Vidyapeeth. Before independence, Maharana Bhupal Singh played a pivotal role in promoting education in both urban and tribal regions of Mewar. He donated numerous buildings and land for public welfare, which now house institutions like Maharana Bhupal Hospital, the Court Complex, the Collectorate Complex, Fateh Memorial, and several schools and colleges.

Chancellor Bhawarlal Gurjar highlighted that it was under the inspiration of the founder Janubhai Maharana that Banaras was chosen as the place for higher education. After completing his education, he established the Vidyapeeth in 1937 with the aim of educating the underprivileged. The Vidyapeeth has since grown into a great tree, providing support for the upliftment of all sections of society. During the process of integration, Maharana Bhupal Singh welcomed everyone who sought refuge in Mewar. He was a key supporter of the princely integration and is regarded as a guiding figure in the integration of India. His notable contributions to women's education and social welfare cannot be forgotten. The youth should draw inspiration from his life.

On this occasion, Dr. Ameya Goswami, Dr. Chandresh Chatlani, Personal Secretary K.K. Kumawat, Jitendra Singh Chauhan, Dr. Hemant Sahu, Dr. Jaysingh Jodha, Lahrnath, Vikas Dangi, Jayprakash Chobisa, Dr. Lalit Salvi, Puneet Kumar, Lalu Ram Salvi, and many other workers also paid floral tributes to Maharana Bhupal Singh's portrait.
