Gujarat's Siddhi Dhamal Thrills the Audience

Udaipur: On the second day of the Lokanuranjan Mela, organized on the occasion of the 74th Foundation Day of the Indian Folk Art Mandal, Gujarat's Siddhi Dhamal performance captivated the audience with its spectacular display. 

Dr. Laik Hussain, Director of the Indian Folk Art Mandal, shared that on the second day, folk artists from Rajasthan and various states of India performed incredible acts. Among them, the 10-member Kalbeliya dance troupe from Jodhpur won the hearts of the audience with their acrobatic moves. The Chakri group from Baran and Sahariya artists from the same district also presented mesmerizing performances. Additionally, artists from Barmer performed the folk narration of Lord Pabuji Rathore's tales. 

Other artists from different states presented their folk performances, including Gujarat's Siddhi Dhamal dance, Himachal Pradesh's Fuko Nati dance, Telangana's Perini Natyam group, Jammu & Kashmir's Gojri dance, Punjab's Zindwa dance, and artists from the Indian Folk Art Mandal performed spectacular Tera Taal folk dances.

The event began with the honorary secretary of the organization, Satyaprakash Goel, welcoming the chief guest, Mr. Kuldeep Sharma, ADJ, and other distinguished guests. Following this, all the dignitaries paid tribute to the portrait of Padma Shri Devilaal Ji Samar Sahab, the founder of the Indian Folk Art Mandal, and lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the start of the program.

Dr. Hussain mentioned that the foundation day event, "Lokanuranjan Mela," is being organized with the collaboration of various organizations including the Art and Culture Department of Rajasthan, Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy, Jodhpur, Western Region Cultural Center, Udaipur, Northern Region Cultural Center, Patiala, Language and Culture Department, Telangana Government, Punjab Folk Art Center, Gurdaspur, and Maniklal Verma Adivasi Research and Training Institute, Udaipur.

On the occasion of the Foundation Day, the "21st Padma Shri Devilaal Samar Smriti National Theatre Festival" is also being held, where plays will be staged, including *Kapas Ke Phool* by Kite Acting Studio, Mumbai, directed by Saheb Neetish on 25th February 2025, and *Khoya Hua Aadmi* on 26th February 2025. On the final day, 28th February 2025, *Ek Tha Manto* by Manch-Rangmanch, Amritsar, directed by Kailash Dhaliwal, will be performed.

On the third day, folk artists from different states will again present their performances, and the event will be free for the audience.
