Dr. Kriti Bharti, Managing Trustee of Saarthi Trust and a renowned psychologist, addressed the students of IIT Delhi as the chief guest at the NSS social program Kaizen. She urged the youth to face problems head-on and find solutions instead of getting intimidated by them. She also appealed to them to work towards creating a society free from exploitation and gender-based discrimination.
Dr. Kriti, who is among the top 10 activists in the world, told the students that they should not run away from the challenges of student life, but instead, find ways to overcome them. "You are the hero of your own life," she said. "No one will come to save you unless you take the first step to save yourself. You can seek help from friends, teachers, family, or NGOs, but ultimately, it's up to you to find solutions to your problems."
Dr. Kriti, who is also an advocate for child and women's rights, spoke about the importance of setting boundaries and speaking out against exploitation. "Women often adjust to situations that are not comfortable for them, and that's when they become victims of exploitation," she said. "It's essential to know when to adjust and when to speak out against injustice."
From victim to savior
Dr. Kriti shared her own life story, from being a victim of circumstances to becoming a savior for others. She has worked tirelessly to eradicate child marriages and has been successful in annulment of 52 child marriages and stopping over 2100 child marriages.
