Intensive Discussion on the Causes and Treatment of Hormones and Diabetes

Udaipur. The 12th Endo-Diacon 2025, a two-day seminar, was organized at the Shorygarh Resort under the aegis of the Endocrine and Diabetes Research Trust and the Diabetes Welfare Society. The seminar saw participation from over 200 participants and subject experts from not only the region but also various states across the country, including New Delhi, PGI Chandigarh, Surat, Ahmedabad, and more.

Dr. D.C. Sharma, the founder of the Trust, informed that over the two days, 45 lectures were held on hormonal diseases and diabetes, and 6 case studies related to these diseases were discussed. Dr. Sharma also shared that a new drug, *Tirzepatide*, which has been researched in the USA for obesity, will soon be available in India. This drug has been approved by American authorities for the treatment of diabetes and obesity. Dr. Sharma discussed the research and benefits of this drug, which will soon be accessible in India as well.

Previously, the average age for children to undergo hormonal changes was considered to be between 12 and 13 years, but in some cases, this has now dropped to as early as 8 years, largely due to nutrition-related factors. Dr. Sharma also stated that the claim of completely eliminating Type 1 Diabetes is not accepted by allopathy, but it can be reduced in Type 2 diabetes. A special session was also dedicated to discussing diabetes reversal.

Dr. Anil Bhansali, former professor at PGI Chandigarh, shed light on thyroid tests and complex thyroid diseases. 

Dr. D.C. Sharma, Chairman of the Trust, shared the latest research and information on hormones, thyroid, diabetes, reproductive hormones, growth-related hormones, and puberty-related hormones. He also highlighted the upcoming medicines, new research, and treatments for diabetes, with contributions from Dr. Vineet Surana from Delhi and Dr. Aakansha Athariya from Surat.

The seminar included two panel discussions on complex blood pressure issues and common problems caused by salt deficiency. Panelists, including Dr. R.K. Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Kansara, Dr. D.C. Kumawat, Dr. Atulabh Vajpayee, Dr. Kapil Bhargav, Dr. Jai Chordia, Dr. Rahul Sahloot, Dr. Vinod Bokadia, Dr. Sonia Gupta, and Dr. Veerendra Goyal, shared their views. 

Over 200 doctors from renowned medical institutions in Delhi, Chandigarh, Surat, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and other parts of the country participated in the seminar. The Rajasthan Medical Council awarded 6 credit hours for faculty members and 4 credit hours for participants for this conference. Registration for participants is still ongoing.

On this occasion, to increase awareness about diabetes, a comedy play titled *Diabetes Ki Adalat* was performed under the joint aegis of IMA and API Udaipur. The play was set in a courtroom, and through humor, the actors explained the complex complications and facts of diabetes, making it both entertaining and educational for the participants.

Dr. Sharma also discussed the challenges that physicians face in understanding thyroid disease tests and the causes behind them. Furthermore, there was a discussion on the latest research in the treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiencies, osteoporosis in the elderly, and the resulting weakness in bones. The event was inaugurated with a welcome address by Dr. D.C. Sharma, who also conducted the program.
