Udaipur: A camp on "The Basic Elements and Benefits of Acupressure" was organized under the joint auspices of Shri Jainacharya Devendra Mahila Sansthan and Consumer Protection Organization, New Delhi. Dr. Alpana Bohra, District President (Udaipur) of the Consumer Protection Organization, New Delhi, and former Vice President of Volta India Limited, was the keynote speaker. She shared valuable information, explaining that acupressure is a non-violent healing method with a 5000-year-old heritage from India. This method is linked to cultural practices such as greeting with "Namaste" and handshakes. Acupressure is a therapeutic technique that can be practiced anywhere, at any time.
She further explained that specific acupressure points are found in our hands, ears, and soles, which correspond to different parts of the body. Understanding these points can help in diagnosing and treating health issues. Dr. Bohra emphasized that clapping activates all the acupressure points in the body, leading to health benefits. She provided detailed insights into how acupressure can help with ailments like headaches, knee pain, high blood pressure, diabetes, frozen shoulder, and more, adding that this method has no side effects.
The president of the institution, Sadiya Nahar, joint secretary Indra Chordia, treasurer Vanita Pamecha, advisor Rekha Chordia, and Ashok Kadja expressed their gratitude and honored Dr. Bohra.
Dr. Rajashree Gandhi, National President of the Consumer Protection Organization, provided further information, stating that under consumer awareness, free acupressure awareness lectures and medical camps are continuously being organized in various women's institutions. Dr. Gandhi also mentioned that similar awareness camps will be held in schools, colleges, and women's institutions in the coming months.
