Tadka-Mareech, Subahu Vadh Presented in Ramleela

Udaipur: On the second day of the grand 11-day Shri Ramleela Mahotsav, being organized by the renowned Ramleela Mandal Kashi, 25 artists from Varanasi performed a grand enactment of the Tadka, Mareech, and Subahu Vadh at the Saviya Main Crossroad. A large crowd gathered to witness the event.

The organizer of the Ramleela, Dilip Jain, explained that the performance depicted the destruction of sages’ yajnas by the demons, which brought them great disgrace. The scene showed how, after meditating, it was revealed that Lord Ram was born to King Dasharath of Ayodhya. To protect the yajnas, Lord Ram and Lakshman were sent to request King Dasharath for their permission. However, King Dasharath, overwhelmed by his attachment to his sons, initially refuses. Rishi Vishwamitra becomes angry, and seeing his anger, King Dasharath is frightened. Sage Vashistha then intervenes and convinces Dasharath to send Ram and Lakshman. The slaying of the monstrous demons and the triumph of good over evil was portrayed vividly, bringing immense joy to the hundreds of viewers present.

He also mentioned that after several years, Ramleela is being performed in this area, and it has become a topic of discussion in the entire Sabina Sector 9. Since Ramleela performances are rarely held, the purpose of this event is to revive this dying art form, instill values in children, and promote dharma.

The event was attended by several esteemed guests, including Kailash Kevaliya, Vikas Goud, Suresh Singh Yadav, Mukesh Sharma, Vijaylal Jain, Nikhil Sahu, Yogesh Upadhyay, Yashvardhan Singh Ranawat, former president of the Nirman Samiti Ashish Kothari, and many other distinguished citizens of the city.
