A three-day training program was organized from 5th to 7th February 2025 in the village of Turgarh, under the Gram Panchayat of Jhadol-Falasia, as part of the Scheduled Caste Sub-project, under the All India Coordinated Agricultural Women’s Research Project of Maharana Pratap Agricultural and Technology University. The program was conducted by the Central Institute of Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar.
During the training, 100 aluminum grain storage bins were distributed to 100 families from the Scheduled Caste community. Dr. Vishakha Bansal, Professor and Unit Coordinator, Extension Education and Communication Management, provided women with information about natural methods of grain storage. On the second day of the program, Dr. Subhash Chandra Meena, an agricultural scientist, shared advanced farming techniques and soil health tips with tribal families, as well as different aspects of animal husbandry. Kartik Salvi also spoke about soil conservation, soil erosion, and crop production based on soil type.
Throughout the three days of the training, various agricultural tools were distributed to 571 families from the Scheduled Caste community. A total of 17 different tools were provided, including irrigation pipes, milk cans, sewing machines, azolla beds, metal buckets, hand hoes, sickles, garden rakes, and sprayers. Assistant Agriculture Officer, Mr. Shiv Dayal Meena, played a key role in the distribution of inputs. The program was managed by Dr. Vishakha Bansal, Unit Coordinator, Agricultural Women’s Research Project, with support from Dr. Kusum Sharma, Miss Anushka Tiwari (Young Professional), and Mr. Kartik Salvi. Special assistance in organizing the event was provided by key workers Mr. Heeralal Patel and Mr. Nanalal Patel from the village.
