District-Level INSPIRE Award Exhibition and Competition Attracts 201 Students

Udaipur: The three-day district-level INSPIRE Award exhibition commenced on Friday at Bal Shiksha Sadan Higher Secondary School, Rata Khet, on Rampura Road, Udaipur. A total of 201 students from the district registered to participate and showcased their models at the event.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Chief District Education Officer Mahendra Kumar Jain, who was the chief guest, and the District Education Officer (Secondary Headquarters) Dr. Lokesh Bharti, who presided over the event. Special guests included Additional District Education Officer (Secondary Education) Murli Dhar Chobisa, Lalit Dak, Founder Officer of Secondary Education Sunil Bhatnagar, Managing Director of Bal Shiksha Sadan and District President of Hindustan Scout and Guide Girish Bharti, INSPIRE Award Coordinator Pratyush Jain, and Chirag Ameta.

On the first day of the exhibition and competition, the principal of Bal Shiksha Sadan, Meena Bharti, presented the event's report. The program was conducted by Manoj Kumar Pathak. Addressing the children present at the event, Chief Guest Mahendra Kumar Jain inspired them to think scientifically, citing the example of a slider wash basin. Dr. Lokesh Bharti encouraged students not to limit their imagination, as free-flowing ideas, when applied scientifically, often turn into innovations.

Students from the district presented various models, including those aimed at assisting the disabled, innovative solutions for human use, models demonstrating how to reduce electricity consumption using the solar system, and how artificial intelligence can be used for societal benefits. Many models focused on adding new elements to scientific research.

The jury team from the National Innovation Foundation of India, Delhi, consisting of Garima Chaudhary and Parul Singh, along with district-level jury members Manoj Kumar Pathak and Mukesh Parakh, evaluated the models. This four-member team will select the top 20 percent of the best models for the state-level competition.

Dr. Lokesh Bharti shared that arrangements for the students' accommodation were made by the host school for the duration of the exhibition. Additionally, on 8 February, a one-day inter-school coding and robotics hackathon will be organized for government and private schools.

Kailash Rawal from the School Enterprise Organization explained that during the hackathon, participating students would identify a problem they have experienced and work collaboratively to create a prototype solution within a 4-hour window. The students would then present their prototype to the jury, and those with the best solutions will receive awards. Students will also code robotic devices to solve specific problems during this time. The best robotics project will be awarded.
