Udaipur | A Brain Stroke Awareness Camp was organized by the Muskan Club Youth Revitalized, where the well-known city consultant neurologist, Dr. Pankaj Tapadia, elaborated on the major causes of brain stroke, ways to control them, the symptoms of stroke, and the immediate measures to take. Dr. Tapadia explained that brain stroke, or cerebral hemorrhage, is a medical emergency that occurs when there is a sudden reduction in blood flow to a part of the brain. As a result, brain cells do not receive oxygen and nutrients, causing them to die. This can happen due to the rupture of brain blood vessels or the formation of blood clots.
The symptoms of a stroke include difficulty in speaking, walking, seeing, thinking, and memory loss. High blood sugar, high blood pressure, and cholesterol are the three major risk factors for stroke, and regular yoga, jogging, and walking can significantly help control these factors. Dr. Tapadia emphasized the importance of initiating medical treatment as soon as stroke symptoms appear, following the BE FAST method, as brain cells and nerves continue to die every second.
The media coordinator, Professor Vimal Sharma, mentioned that since high blood sugar and blood pressure are two key risk factors, free tests for sugar, blood pressure, and pulse were conducted for 175 senior citizens present at the event. Those with abnormal results were given dietary advice and advised to undergo complete testing to prevent serious health issues in time.
Patrons Kaushalya Gattani and Shraddha Gattani honored Dr. Tapadia with a memento, while the executive members presented him with a scarf. Surajmal Porwal expressed gratitude to everyone involved.
