CMA's Response to the Union Budget 2025-26
New Delhi/Mumbai : Cement Manufacturers Association (CMA) has expressed its satisfaction with the 2025-26 Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The budget focuses on rural and urban development, infrastructure investment, job creation, and innovation, providing a strong roadmap for India's economic growth.
CMA President and Managing Director of Shri Cement Ltd., Neeraj Akhori, said, "The budget, presented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizes inclusive growth. The increased infrastructure investment will open new opportunities for the cement industry, and we remain committed to our role in the nation's progress."
He further added that the increased spending on housing and infrastructure projects will raise the demand for construction materials, driving capacity expansion and sustainable practices. He is confident that the cement industry will achieve a continuous growth rate of over 6% this fiscal year.
CMA Vice President and Managing Director of JSW Cement Ltd., Parth Jindal, described the budget as "a visionary roadmap aligned with the 'Developed India 2047' vision." He said, "The budget prioritizes growth in infrastructure, manufacturing, and technology. Increased investment in technology will accelerate progress in green cement solutions, promoting sustainability and innovation."
He also appreciated the government's interest-free loans for infrastructure development for states, amounting to ₹1.5 lakh crore over 50 years, and the ₹20,000 crore innovation initiatives. Additionally, projects under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model over three years will encourage private sector investment, driving change in the infrastructure sector.
CMA acknowledged the government's strong commitment to a modern, people-centered, and reliable regulatory framework that emphasizes ease of doing business. It believes that the next five years will provide a unique opportunity to achieve the vision of "Sabka Vikas" and that the cement industry will continue to play a key role in advancing this development through innovation and technological integration.
