Congress's Response to the Union Budget for the Third Term of Modi Government

Udaipur. Reacting to the first full budget of the Modi government’s third term, Udaipur Rural District Congress President Kachru Lal Choudhary stated that after coming to power in Rajasthan with the promise of a "double-engine government," the Union Budget did not even mention Rajasthan. "This is a betrayal of the people of Rajasthan," he said. He called the central government’s budget completely disappointing, adding that the business community, which had hoped for relief from the complicated GST system, was left dissatisfied. "The business community, which plays a significant role in boosting the country's economy, did not get any relief from the complicated GST system," he noted, labeling the entire budget as disappointing.

Udaipur City District Congress President Fateh Singh Rathore remarked that the country is severely affected by poverty, inflation, and unemployment, while Modi's capitalist friends are flourishing. He pointed out that the central government did not announce any measures to tackle inflation or create employment opportunities. "The attitude towards the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) remains disappointing. No announcement was made regarding making the ERCP a national project. Overall, Modi's loot from the middle class will continue," he added, calling the budget completely disappointing.

Udaipur Rural District Congress Spokesperson Dr. Sanjeev Rajpurohit stated that farmer suicides are the biggest issue in the country today, with the number of suicides among farmers increasing across states. He emphasized that farmers need a guarantee on MSP, not 'credit facilities,' and demanded loan waivers. "Farmers want to talk to the government. They had been sitting at the Delhi borders for over a year, but no one listened. The common people had hoped for a reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel in this budget, but they were disappointed," he said. Dr. Rajpurohit concluded by calling the budget a collection of lies and false promises.
