International Workshop on Ayad River Basin Research Results
Udaipur, An international workshop titled "Ayad River Basin Integrated Water Resource Management Assessment Research Results" was held at the Vidya Bhavan Polytechnic Auditorium. The workshop presented the research findings on water resource management of the Ayad River Basin, which are highly significant in the context of River City and Ramsar Wetland City.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with Vidya Bhavan, Copenhagen University, Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland, Danish Hydraulic Institute India (DHI), Development Alternatives, and Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland.
At the beginning of the workshop, Dr. Anil Mehta, Principal of Vidya Bhavan, emphasized the importance of this research in the context of River City and Ramsar Wetland City. Dr. Jitendra Taliya, Chairman of Vidya Bhavan, mentioned that the research results regarding the water availability and quality of the Ayad River Basin will be available on Vidya Bhavan's website.
Dr. Anita Sharma from Denmark stated that, under the Green Strategic Partnership between India and Denmark, research on the Ayad River Basin and development of the Gumania Nala are also ongoing.
Dr. Shreshth Tyal and Dr. Kuldeep from the Danish Hydraulic Institute presented the Mike She Hydrological Model for the Ayad River Basin.
The participation of citizens and students in the research was highlighted, as they personally measured parameters such as water quality, rainfall, and groundwater levels. This research is an exemplary example of "Citizen Science."
Many academics, officials from the Water Resources Department, and other prominent individuals also shared their views during the workshop.
This workshop has proven to be an important step in the field of water resource management and scientific modeling, and its results are exemplary for the entire state of Rajasthan, which can be expanded further.
