National Library Mission Workshop Concludes at Sukhadia University

The five-day National Library Mission workshop, organized by Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, and the Raja Ram Mohan Roy Library Foundation under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, concluded with a ceremony at the Bappa Rawal Auditorium of the university.

Dr. P.S. Rajput, the workshop coordinator, shared that the chief guests for the closing ceremony were the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Sunita Mishra, and distinguished guests Prof. Atul Bhatt and Prof. Meera Mathur from Gujarat Central University. Renowned scholars from across the country discussed topics related to the promotion of public libraries, the application of new technologies, and the improvement of library efficiency with the participants.

Librarians from various public libraries across Rajasthan participated in the workshop, and all attendees were awarded certificates for their participation in the five-day event.

On this occasion, Prof. Sunita Mishra, Vice Chancellor, congratulated the organizers for the successful completion of the workshop, stating, "India is a vast ocean of knowledge, preserved by libraries since ancient times. Events like these are essential for the continuous development of libraries, enabling us to contribute to the global knowledge tradition."

Prof. Meera Mathur praised all the participants, emphasizing the importance of such capacity-building programs in the development of public libraries.

In his lecture, Prof. Atul Bhatt remarked, "The continuous development of libraries is essential, and librarians should remain engaged in lifelong learning. This workshop will give a new momentum to the development of public libraries in India."

During the workshop, library science experts Dr. Ashwini Tiwari presented on website creation, Dr. Pawan Agarwal and Dr. Govind Baseria covered Koha presentation and training, and Dr. Seema Parmar discussed emerging trends in public libraries and open access initiatives.

University staff members Dr. Rajaram Bhatt, Jitendra Suhalka, Anuj Yadav, Jitendra Meghwal, Shravan Shrimali, Ruchi, and Kaveri were also present at the event.
