One-Day Farmer Training Program on Oilseed Crop Advancement Concludes

Udaipur: A one-day farmer training program was organized under the All India Coordinated Research Project on Oilseeds as part of the Front Line Demonstration at the Directorate of Research, Maharana Pratap Agricultural and Technology University. The aim of the program was to encourage the inclusion of oilseed crops in crop diversification, thereby increasing farmers' income and promoting agricultural sustainability.

In the opening session, Project In-charge Dr. Hari Singh delivered the welcome address and provided a brief overview of the project. He emphasized the importance of oilseed crops, bringing diversity to agricultural systems, and ways to increase farmers' income.

Dr. Jagdish Chaudhary, Associate Professor (Agriculture Science), gave a lecture on sustainable agriculture through oilseed-based farming systems. He discussed the benefits of adopting oilseed-based cropping systems, including soil health improvement, efficient resource utilization, and economic enhancement.

Dr. H.L. Bairwa, Associate Professor (Horticulture), spoke about environmentally friendly and beneficial diversified horticulture with oilseeds. He highlighted the economic and ecological advantages of integrating oilseed crops with horticultural crops.

Dr. B.G. Chhippa, Co-Associate Professor (Horticulture), gave an in-depth discussion on the benefits and technical aspects of combining oilseed and horticultural crops.

Assistant Professor Dr. Deepak lectured on nematode management in oilseed crops. He provided farmers with detailed information on identifying nematodes in oilseed crops, their impact, and effective management techniques.

In conclusion, Dr. Hari Singh presented a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the speakers, participants, and the organizing team for making the event successful. He stated that the training program had successfully provided farmers with the technical knowledge to adopt oilseed-based farming systems, thus helping increase their income.

A total of 30 farmers from Jhadol and Falsiya attended the program and found it highly beneficial. The participants committed to applying the knowledge gained to their farms, with the goal of improving their agricultural income and sustainability through crop diversification.

Key officials associated with the project, including Mr. Ramji Lal, Mr. Ekling Singh, Mr. Madan Lal, Mr. N.S. Jhalla, Mr. Gopal Nai, and Mr. Narendra Yadav, were also present at the event.
